Foster parent training is coming to Wetumpka!

Individuals and families interested in becoming foster parents are invited to attend a MAPP Foundation Orientation on Tuesday, January 27, at 6:00 p.m. The orientation will be held at Reformation Church, located at 500 Hwy 170, Wetumpka, AL 36092.

The MAPP (Model Approach to Partnerships in Parenting) Foundation orientation is the first step in learning more about foster care and the role foster families play in supporting children and teens during a critical time in their lives. This informational session is designed to provide a clear overview of foster care, expectations for foster families, and the training process required to become licensed.

Attendees will gain insight into:

• What foster care is and why it is needed

• The responsibilities and rewards of being a foster parent

• The MAPP Foundation training process

• How foster families support children, families, and the community

The orientation is informational only and does not require a commitment to move forward. It is an opportunity to ask questions, learn the basics, and determine whether foster care may be the right fit for your family.

Those who feel called to make a difference in the lives of children are strongly encouraged to attend. Foster families are always needed, and attending an orientation is an important first step toward providing a safe, supportive home for children in care.
