Looking back at 2024!
01/07/2025

We’re starting the new year with a fresh slate, and we have a lot of great things in the works! But we wanted to take a second to look back at our 2024 (our 20-year anniversary!), and let you guys know about the impact we had.
We served 6,340 children and families in 2024 through all of the programs that we provide for people in the foster care system!
We had 14 girls come to Davidson Farms and the Whitaker Cottage Community this past year for hope and healing. We gave those girls and young women 2,500 hours worth of mentoring, helping them become the best version of themselves they can be.
We helped 60 families with new clothing, toys, and more for children coming into foster care.
We trained two new classes of foster parents!
One of our favorite numbers of the year: We celebrated an amazing 9 adoptions in 2024!
We put a major emphasis on treating trauma in children this year, which is where the Smith Family Wellness Center came in. Our therapists hit the ground running, providing 204 clients with 1,654 hours of therapy, including equine therapy.
We had 49 students attend KTECH and work toward new promising careers. For our children in foster care attending college, we awarded 40 scholarships.
One of our biggest initiatives every year is More Than a Backpack. We provided 3,938 backpacks of school supplies for children in three states to have when they started the school year.
Our other major initiative, Christmas for the Kids, provided Christmas gifts for 1,897 children.
We also broke ground on our new building that will house the Smith Family Wellness Center, the expanded Curtis Cares Center, and the Isenberg Center for Education and Innovation. Moving into that building is on our 2025 checklist, so be on the lookout for that!
We’re so happy that we were able to provide these services and more for our kids, and we’re not interested in slowing down in 2025!
