More Than a Backpack Wraps Up Another Incredible Year with 5,079 Backpacks Delivered!

It’s hard to believe another More Than a Backpack campaign is in the books!

This summer, our warehouse filled up with backpacks, notebooks, crayons, pencils, and every other school supply you can imagine. More importantly, it filled up with people who wanted to help children in foster care start the school year on the right foot.

Thanks to all of you, we delivered 5,079 backpacks to children in foster care across Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.

We couldn’t have done it without our presenting sponsor, CB&S Bank. Their branches served as collection sites throughout the campaign, making it easy for communities across the region to donate school supplies and be part of something bigger.

We’re also grateful for every business, church, school, civic group, and family that hosted a supply drive. Some people dropped off a few notebooks. Others filled shopping carts. Some gave financially. Others gave their time by packing backpacks in our warehouse.

No matter how you helped, you were part of making this campaign a success.

Watching thousands of backpacks leave our warehouse never gets old. Each one represents a child walking into school with the supplies they need and the knowledge that people they’ve never even met are cheering them on.

To everyone who donated, volunteered, packed backpacks, or helped spread the word, thank you. Your kindness will make a difference long after the first day of school.
