Our school supply program is called More Than a Backpack because for many children in foster care, a new backpack can mean so much. Many kids enter foster care without many things of their own and when they do, many times what they are able to take with them is stuffed in a garbage bag. They deserve more.
With a new backpack they get something permanent they can carry their belongings in if they need to move. Something that’s theirs. It gives them back their dignity. And with the school supplies we put in each backpack, they don’t have to worry about having what they need for school; they can focus on learning.
In 2026, Kids to Love provided 5,079 backpacks to children in Alabama, Tennessee, and Florida.
