We have a Shoals campus now!

11/14/2022

The Kids to Love Foundation celebrated the opening of the Kids to Love Shoals Campus with a ribbon cutting ceremony Nov. 14.

The new Shoals Campus is located on Blue Road in Tuscumbia.

The Kids to Love Shoals Campus is made possible by a generous donation from Tracey and Tim Miller.

Kids to Love has served the Shoals for more than 18 years with its numerous programs, including Emergency Assistance, Christmas For the Kids, and the More Than a Backpack school supply program. The new Shoals Campus will allow Kids to Love to expand its Child Placing Agency and increase its services and more to children in foster care and their families.

Kids to Love became a licensed Child Placing Agency in late 2021 and recently began private adoptions.

“This new campus will allow us to do much more in an area where there is a great need,” Kids to Love Founder and CEO Lee Marshall said. “Now, our Shoals families and kids will be closer to their Kids to Love case managers and therapists. We’re always a phone call or text message away, but it’s even better to also be just down the road.

“This also allows us to continue expanding our Child Placing Agency, which has grown significantly in the last year. We are committed to making sure every child has a loving home, and we are making more progress every day.”

The Kids to Love Shoals Campus consists of 160 acres of land, a building for the Child Placing Agency, and Wanda and Snow Flake — two therapy mules in training.

“Tracey and Tim Miller’s generous donation will have a great impact on our ability to serve the Shoals,” Marshall said. “We’re excited to get started!”

There is a great need for more foster families in Alabama. There are more than 6,000 children in foster care in Alabama, but only approximately 2,300 foster homes. If you’re interested in becoming a foster parent, click here.
