We’re expanding to Florida and could use your help!

When I first started collecting backpacks in my garage, I never imagined what it would become. Back then, it was simple – just a desire to help foster kids in our community walk into school feeling prepared and cared for. This year, even more children will know how that feels because Kids to Love’s “More than a Backpack” program is growing across the state line into Florida! We will serve just over 400 children along the Panhandle.

What I’ve learned over the years is that these backpacks are about so much more than pencils and paper. For many children in foster care, this may be the first new backpack they’ve ever had. It’s a reminder that they matter and that people they may never meet are cheering them on.

What amazes me most is how our community continues to show up year after year. Every donated backpack, school supply, and financial gift helps us reach another child. As we grow into new communities, my hope is that every child we serve feels loved when they zip up their backpack and head into a new school year.
