CHI Supports Mental Health Services at Smith Family Wellness Center

06/16/2026

Kids to Love is honored to receive a $45,000 grant from the Huntsville Hospital Community Health Initiative (CHI) and the Jean Wessel Templeton Committee in support of the Smith Family Wellness Center.

The grant will help sustain and expand the trauma-informed mental health services provided through the center, ensuring that children and families can access high-quality therapy and support regardless of income, insurance status, or ability to pay.

Since opening in 2025, the Smith Family Wellness Center has served as a place of healing and hope for children and families navigating the effects of trauma. Through evidence-based therapeutic services, specialized programs, and compassionate care, the center helps individuals build resilience, strengthen relationships, and move toward healthier futures.

Support from CHI helps remove financial barriers that can prevent families from seeking care. The $45,000 investment will allow Kids to Love to continue providing critical mental health services while expanding access to those who need them most.

“We are deeply grateful to the Huntsville Hospital Community Health Initiative and the Jean Wessel Templeton Committee for their investment in the well-being of children and families in our community,” said Lee Marshall, founder and CEO of Kids to Love. “This support helps ensure that every child and family who walks through our doors can receive the care, guidance, and hope they deserve.”

Kids to Love remains committed to making mental health services accessible to all. Partnerships like this one make it possible to continue promoting healing, restoring hope, and creating brighter futures for children and families across our community.
